Meet Teach For All's First Student Leader Advisory Council

Publication date

The conviction that all children deserve the education, support, and opportunity they need to shape a better world is at the heart of our work at Teach For All. Around the globe, Teach For All network partners share the belief that every child has the potential not just to navigate the world they'll inherit, but to lead it—starting today. Across the network, students are leading changes big and small in their schools and communities every day. They're standing up and making their voices heard—and the adults are listening.

To ensure the network is considering student perspectives in all of its efforts, we're excited to announce the launch of Teach For All's inaugural Student Leader Advisory Council.  The 2018 Council's seven members are students from India, Germany, Malaysia, Peru, New Zealand, Nepal, and Mexico, who range in age from 15 to 18.  For the next year, they'll collaborate with staff of Teach For All's global organization and network partners, as well as other advisory committees, to amplify student voice within and beyond the network and contribute to the vision and strategy of Teach For All.

We look forward to sharing much more about the 2018 Student Leader Advisory Council, its members, and their efforts over the coming months. Until then, watch the video above to hear from the five students who participated in the Global Teaching Summit in May, and visit the Council's  biography page to learn more about all of its members.
