Teach For Lebanon’s CEO Wins the Arab Creativity Award

On Tuesday, Teach For Lebanons CEO, Salyne El Samarany, was honored with the Arab Creativity Award for “Educational Reform Lead by Teach For Lebanon Young Leaders."

In accepting the award, Salyne reiterated her belief in the transformational power of education in shaping a better future for children. She shared that Teach For Lebanon believes in building youth leadership capacity and elevating young people's role in achieving positive change in society. In the face of complex challenges in the Middle East, Teach For Lebanon is committed to building collective leadership grounded in the belief that investing in quality of education for all students is the only path to eradicating violence and conflict in the region and around the world. “We are in dire need of a large number of young people who believe in building a culture of peace based on the foundations of spiritual, social, and educational values,” Salyne told the audience of senior officials, representatives of organizations, and intellectual and cultural leaders from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and other Arab countries.

The winners of the 2016 Arab Creativity Award were honored at a ceremony held during the annual FIKR Conference in Abu Dhabi, UAE. The conference was hosted by the Arab Thought Foundation in partnership with the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States, under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE.
