Learning Despite the Challenges

For more than three years, Isteqlal High School was without an English teacher. Now, Teach For Afghanistan participant Said Amir has filled this important position, using inspiring and innovative teaching methods, including group work and weekly progress tests.

One student in Mr. Amir’s class is paralyzed, which initially hindered him from being able to engage in class as much other students. However, with Mr. Amir’s intervention, he is now actively participating in class, including reading from the board in front of the room.

We've launched a new section for Network Participants & Alumni to find resources and opportunities to connect!
