Teach For All enthusiastically welcomes Sir John Hood, President and CEO of the Robertson Foundation, to its Board of Directors.
The Robertson Foundation is one of Teach For All’s most significant supporters and has been an incredible champion of our efforts to ensure that all children have access to the educational opportunities they deserve.
“John Hood is a tremendous addition to Teach For All’s Board of Directors," says Teach For All CEO and Co-founder Wendy Kopp. "His record of leadership in higher education, philanthropy, and the non-profit sector, and his international experience, will be invaluable assets as we work to grow Teach For All's impact."
"I am delighted to be joining the board of Teach For All at this stage of its ambitious development," Hood shared. "The Robertson Foundation has been a long-term supporter of Teach For All, Teach For America, and Teach First New Zealand. We believe in the missions of the organisations, their leadership, and in their potential to continue transforming educational opportunities wherever those are most compromised."
Hood was an executive of Fletcher Challenge for 19 years and is a former vice-chancellor of the Universities of Auckland and Oxford. In addition to his role at the Robertson Foundation, he currently serves as Chairman of the Rhodes Trust, as a director of BG Group, plc and WPP, plc, and as chairman of Urenco Limited, Study Group Limited, and Matakina Limited.
