In September, dozens of Deutsche Post DHL volunteers in Lima, Peru teamed up with EnseñaPeru teaching participants and more than 200 of their students for three days of repairing and beautifying schools and organizing student workshops. That same week in India, more than 100 volunteers visited 10 Teach For India schools across the country to host art competitions, paint classrooms, and interact with hundreds of students. In Germany, over 100 employees volunteered their time to students and partner schools of Teach First Deutschland and, among other activities, conducted job application trainings to help students develop the necessary skills to transition to the world of work.
By organizing and taking part in these activities, and utilizing their individual skills and experience to create the greatest impact for the students, Deutsche Post DHL volunteers became active participants in the joint vision of improving educational opportunities and employability of children and young people around the world.
Since 2011, Teach For All global champion Deutsche Post DHL has partnered with the network on many of its annual Global Volunteer Day activities. Deutsche Post DHL works closely with Teach For All and network partners Enseña por Argentina, Enseña Chile, Enseña Ecuador, Teach First Deutschland, Teach For India, EnseñaPerú, Teach for the Philippines, and Empieza por Educar (Spain).
Last year, more than 100,000 Deutsche Post DHL employees demonstrated their personal commitment to the company’s motto of “Living Responsibility” by directly effecting change through volunteer initiatives around the world. In 2014, the Teach For All network benefited from the efforts of over 200 Global Volunteers who worked alongside our partners’ teachers, staff, and students in their schools and communities.
Teach For All is grateful to be a part of Deutsche Post DHL’s Global Volunteer Day activities, and we look forward to continuing our partnership for many Global Volunteer Days to come.
