As part of their participation on the International Commission on Financing Global Education Opportunity’s Youth Panel, Teach For Lebanon CEO, Salyne El Samarany, and Teach For India Manager of Student Leadership, Sanaya Bharucha, are encouraging young people around the world to express their ideas about the future of education via the Education Youth Video Challenge.
The Challenge, which was launched in partnership with MTV Voices and A World At School, aims to mobilize young people on every continent to make their voices heard in the global education conversation. Anyone between the ages of 13 and 30 is invited to share their perspective about what’s needed in education—in their countries and across the globe—to better prepare students for the future. In her video, Salyne discusses the importance of student leadership, while Sanaya underscores the deep link between a child in India’s socio-economic status and educational outcomes.
This exciting opportunity to ensure world leaders are listening to the voices and perspectives of young people is accepting submissions through May 31, 2016. The Challenge’s winning videos will be featured on MTV Voices and at the launch of the Education Commission report during September’s UN General Assembly in New York, where the Grand Prize Winner will be invited to screen his or her video.
