Teach For Australia Celebrates Seven Years of Progress and Impact

In celebration of its seventh anniversary, Teach For Australia has released a report highlighting the organization’s progress to date and providing evidence and examples of the impact of its program, Associates (participants), and alumni inside and outside of the classroom.

Through research findings, stories, and reflections, the report reveals how Teach For Australia, in collaboration with governments, universities, schools, parents, students, and supporters, is making significant strides toward effecting change and building leadership capacity in education.

Key findings in the report include:

  • More than 75% of alumni remain in the education sector

  • Over 60% of alumni are currently teaching

  • Approximately 50% of Associates take on leadership positions in the second year of teaching

  • 47% of Teach For Australia’s 2016 cohort are teaching STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths) subjects

Congratulations to Teach For Australia on seven years of expanding opportunity for Australia’s students, and for its valuable contributions to the collective learning and progress of Teach For All network partners around the word.
