Opportunity to connect your students internationally New

Journey Across Nations and Continents (JANC) is an interdisciplinary virtual exchange project that connects classrooms from different countries to learn and have cultural exchanges with one another. JANC is a project by a team of Teach For India Fellows. We are looking for teachers and alumni from other parts of the Teach For All network and organizations working primarily in education to participate in this virtual exchange project to connect your students with our students in India to learn from each other.

Interested teachers will:

  • Collaborate with us to scope the learning sequence of the virtual exchange project based on the needs of our classrooms.
  • Conduct a virtual exchange for our classrooms.
  • Collect feedback from our students about the impact of the project.

If you are interested, please contact Kavita at kavita.malik2020@teachforindia.org by October 27 with details about your classroom ‚ students grade level, language, country and time zone. We will then get on a call to get to know each other and to scope out the learning sequence.

The 2021 WISE Summit will take place in Doha on 7-9 December, under the theme: “Generation Unmute: Reclaiming our Future through Education”. The Summit will be mainly virtual this year with a small in-person component for those currently residing in Doha.

Teach For All will once again be a formal Knowledge Partner for the Summit and our global network has been invited to express interest in participating across various Summit platforms including short ~10-15min presentations as part of WISE's Get Involved sessions where selected applicants are invited to pitch a new idea, share a ted-style talk, or present a topic for discussion and collective brainstorming.

This is GREAT opportunity for any partner, student, alumni, staff member who is hoping to do more public speaking and share insights/stories/innovations in front of a diverse global audience of public and private stakeholders.

All session will be a part of the formal program and made available to the full list of participants at WISE. Applicants are encouraged to fill out the templates shared here and send it to wise-speakers@wise.org.qa. Proposals will be reviewed on a rolling basis and no later than early November. Also shared is a powerpoint which will orient prospective applicants more around what this opportunity actually entails.

Do you have an idea for how we can improve learning and advance the field of learning engineering? Last year, the Futures Forum on Learning launched the global Tools Competition to fund edtech tools, technologies, and platforms to combat the crisis of pandemic-related learning loss and build the field of learning engineering.  Applications for the 2021 round of the Tools Competition is now open, with more than $3 million in prizes for new education tools!

HundrED has launched a new Spotlight Project in partnership with the Jacobs Foundation that aims to identify innovations that help teachers better assess students’ learning.

The Formative Assessment: Improving Learning for Every Child Spotlight is a multi-phase project calling for innovations and initiatives that are helping to transform assessment approaches for improved learning outcomes for each student.

Examples of solutions include but are not limited to:

  • Approaches that address individual learning needs through adaptive teaching, differentiated instruction, remedial education
  • Offline, hybrid, blended approaches that formatively assess and adapt teaching (difficulty, speed, tools) to the individual learner levels and needs
  • Personalized pathways, effective feedback, effective classroom use of adaptive learning EdTech tools or data-driven school management practices focusing on learner variability
  • Solutions in K12 education as a whole but even more especially interested in the K6 (2-12 years) context
