Teach For All’s global organization is comprised of more than 140 staff members representing close to 30 nationalities and based in over 20 countries. Our staff works collaboratively across teams and regions to accelerate and increase the impact of the Teach For All network.
The Network Engagement team works to ensure that support, culture, and engagement are holistically strong across all regions and with network partners of at all stages of development. The regional teams are responsible for managing both prospective and current network partners’ day-to-day engagement with the global organization, ensuring that support and peer connectivity meet each organization’s needs according to local priorities and capacity. The regional teams are Teach For All's primary means for providing support across all functional areas to accelerate the learning and impact of current and prospective network partners in each region. In its day-to-day operations, the Network Engagement team conducts site visits to provide direct in-person support, develops various virtual and in-person learning opportunities, facilitates peer-to-peer learning trips and experiences, and coordinates and streamlines direct support that prospective and current network partners receive via functional specialists.
The Organizational Development team collaborates with Teach For All network partners to grow healthy, vision-driven, learning organizations. By sharing insights and providing leadership development on everything from strategy to talent management to board development, we support organizations to evolve the leadership, systems, and culture they need to thrive
The Scale team supports partners to build national movements of leaders and champions to ensure that all children attain an excellent education. Our team ensures partners have the recruitment and selection practices, national brands, and public and private sector partnerships to launch, scale and sustain their organizations. We work directly with partner staff to develop knowledge, create learning experiences, provide thought partnership and foster connections.
The scale team is comprised of three mini-teams:
Recruitment, Selection, & Matriculation (RSM)
RSM specialists work with local staff of Teach For All’s partner organizations as they seek to build the strategies, relationships and systems to recruit and select participants who will join the effort to expand educational opportunity in their countries.
Development & Government Engagement (DGE)
DGE specialists work with local staff of Teach For All’s partner organizations as they seek to build the public and private partnerships (including funding, teaching placements, government partnerships) to launch and scale their organizations.
Marketing & Positioning (M&P)
The mission of the Marketing & Positioning Team is to empower partners with the tools, clarity and strategies they need to influence critical audiences and build the brand necessary to realize their vision.
Participant & Alumni Impact
The Participant & Alumni Impact (PAI) team supports network partners to accelerate participant and alumni leadership, learning and impact.
In addition to the two central roles, the PAI team is comprised of Global and Regional Specialists who support partners to fuel learning and foster connections which accelerate participant and alumni leadership, learning, and impact across the network. In doing so, these Specialists collaborate with one another and across teams (e.g. regional teams, the Global Learning Lab).
Data, Research, Evaluation, & Measurement (DREAM) team ensures that the global organization continues to adapt best practices approaches to assessing, analyzing, and demonstrating the impact of our work, the work of our partners, and our collective impact. We work internally with global organization staff, with partner staff, and external organizations to advance the organization’s and the network’s short-, medium-, and long-term strategic priorities. We are the cheerleaders, motivating Teach For All to make data, research, and evaluation part of their day to day work.
Leadership & Learning
The Leadership & Learning (L&L) team accelerates learning across the network by:
- Supporting learning design and operational support of strong in-person and virtual learning experiences
- Enabling systemic capture and sharing of best practice insights and innovations across the network.
- Supporting leadership development across multiple groups
While each local context is unique, similarities in the nature of the challenges facing children from place to place mean that solutions are often shareable. At Teach For All, we have seen how much faster local leaders can move when they are exposed to what is possible in other contexts. Our global network of teachers and alumni is soon to be over 100,000 strong across more than 60 countries. Teach For All’s Global Connectivity Team works to foster interconnectivity between them, so they are globally informed and locally rooted, to unlock even greater impact for children in communities around the world.
Global Learning Lab
Teach For All’s Global Learning Lab for Classroom Impact seeks, supports and shares innovations from classrooms that are ensuring all children have the opportunity to fulfill their potential as leaders of a better future for themselves, and all of us. Our team pursues this learning through cross-cultural collaboration among educators, students, families, and other partners across and beyond our network. Using what we learn, we create resources and experiences that encourage others to reflect deeply on these fundamental questions in ways that enable thriving, locally rooted leadership and transformational education systems. The Public Affairs team mandate is to:
- Influence the global discussion in order to create an external environment conducive to the achievement of our vision
- Build a proactive narrative and brand that communicates our core purpose, values and vision, highlights the impact of our partners and the network, raises the profile of our partners, and fosters a clear understanding of how our network is structured
- Engage, connect and communicate with our global network and build investment in our shared vision
- Influence the international development community to direct resources towards investing in our shared vision
- Identify and access global opportunities to support partners and use our global knowledge to develop their multilateral engagement, funding, marketing, and positioning capacity
The Global Development (GD) team is responsible for inspiring a global community of supporters to invest in collective leadership to ensure that all children have the opportunity to fulfill their potential. We ensure Teach For All has the financial resources necessary to accomplish our theory of change through cultivating authentic, deep relationships with our supporters – with the aim of catalyzing a global constituency of champions who 1) advocate, 2) provide financial support, and 3) raise funds and visibility for the global organization as well as for network partners. We also support other teams within the global organization that are doing this work, working particularly closely with the Regional Teams (generating regional sources of funding) and Multilateral and Government Partnerships teams (generating multilateral and government sources of funding), by providing the central development resources and support they need.
The Technology team provides two distinct technology services to support, grow, and transform our organization’s ability to achieve its mission:
We build long-term trusted partnerships with our strategic partners throughout the organization to develop a deep understanding of their needs and provide total technology solutions. This generally requires identifying and customizing external products, though at times we may build in-house software solutions to deliver the best outcomes for our business partners.
We maintain organizational IT infrastructure, provide technical support to our staff, and manage commercial off-the-shelf systems to ensure that the organization runs smoothly (e.g. cloud, laptops, mobile, storage, network, security, end-user software)
In order to achieve our goals, we are adopting an agile mindset and practices using lean start-up principles.
People, Organization & Culture
The People, Organization & Culture (POC) team enables the people and teams of the global organization to achieve their developmental & organizational dreams through:
- Talent Acquisition, DEI & Onboarding
Cultivating, attracting, and recruiting a globally diverse and highly talented candidate pool for current and future staff roles at the global organization and our network partners, and engaging and enhancing staff’s experience of joining the global organization. Additionally, the team strives to create an environment where diversity, equity and inclusion are at the root of all relationships, engagements and work. We will achieve this by further diversifying our staff so that we represent the communities where Teach For All partners work and supporting individuals, managers and teams through professional development opportunities to build an inclusive environment.
- Organizational Development
Supporting the development of individuals throughout the organization in their own leadership and professional journeys, and supporting team leaders in creating an environment that fosters leadership development, wholeness, and agility for impact.
Our activities support our people from attraction & recruitment through onboarding & offboarding, personal & professional development, employability, total rewards, compliance and global mobility planning and execution.
