Antonio Piscopo
Antonio is the interim CEO at Teach For Italy. After years of grassroots experience and leadership in local movements and in the ARCI association network between Favara and Palermo, he grew up immersed in projects, local newspapers, and radio stations. With a PhD in Ethics and a background in philosophy, he brings a unique blend of academic rigor, grassroots experience, and project leadership. After working in community-based initiatives in Sicily and on marketing strategies in Germany, he joined Teach First Deutschland (TFD) in 2014.
During his time at TFD, Antonio led several national initiatives, including four editions of Summer Schools for underserved youth, and developed innovative programs on project management and democratic participation in partnership with Germany’s Federal Ministry of the Interior. He has also designed strategic monitoring and learning systems and helped structure a cooperation between TFD and the state of Brandenburg to best face the challenges related to the refugee crisis from Syria.
Since 2016, he has collaborated with the Career Center of the University of Hamburg, regularly conducting workshops on Project Management and Leadership theories for students, PhD candidates, and researchers. Antonio is a certified senior project manager (GPM-IPMA Level B). Recently, he deepened his knowledge of management and financial aspects by completing an MBA Essentials program at the London School of Economics and Political Science. In his free time, he takes care of his sourdough starter (named Frankie), enjoys cooking, and loves cycling.
