Liudmyla Lompas
As the co-founder of Teach For Ukraine, Liudmyla has been a driving force behind the organization since its inception. Having led operations and strategic scaling as the Chief Operating Officer, she brings a deep understanding of the local landscape and organizational context. Her background spans international development, social entrepreneurship, local NGOs, and public-private partnerships — experience that uniquely positions her to navigate the complex challenges facing education in Ukraine today as she steps into the role of Interim CEO.
The founding story of Teach For Ukraine is personal to Liudmyla. She grew up in a small town where both of her parents taught in nearby rural communities, and from childhood she saw firsthand how a good education and encouraging role models could open up a life of opportunity — something she experienced herself, moving from her hometown to a leading Ukrainian university, on to a Fulbright scholarship and impact-driven career. For years, she has worked alongside her team to create opportunities for children across Ukraine to unlock their full potential — a mission that has only grown more urgent during the ongoing war.
Since 2022, Liudmyla and the Teach For Ukraine team have worked at the intersection of emergency response and long-term systemic change, helping children continue learning now, while strengthening the teachers, schools, and leaders who will carry Ukraine forward.
