Paco Ybarra

Paco Ybarra was a Senior Advisor and a member of the Executive Management Team at Citi. From 2019 to 2023, he served as the Chief Executive Officer of Citi’s Institutional Clients Group, which included its Banking, Markets, and Services businesses.

Previously, Paco was Global Head of Markets and Securities Services. He joined the bank in 1987 in Spain as a Management Associate. During his career he has held positions in Spain, Mexico, Singapore, New York, and London. In November 2006, he became Co-Head of Global Fixed Income, and in 2011 was appointed Global Head of Markets. In November 2013, his responsibilities were expanded to include the securities services businesses. He was appointed Deputy Head of the Institutional Clients Group in October 2018.

Paco holds a BA in Economics from the University of Valencia in Spain and an MBA from IESE in Barcelona. He is a member of the Board of Directors of EMPower in the United Kingdom, a nonprofit organization that supports at-risk youth in emerging markets. He also sits on the Alumni Board of IESE.
