Aneesh stepped into the role of CEO of Teach For America after serving as the Chief Executive Officer of One Million Degrees (OMD), a nonprofit dedicated to accelerating the progress of community college students towards economic mobility. During his tenure at OMD, Aneesh led the organization to significant growth, quadrupling the number of students served across the City Colleges of Chicago and launching a new advisory and capacity-building service model to expand OMD's national impact.

Inspired by his immigrant parents and the transformative power of education, Aneesh began his career as a high school English teacher through Teach For America. His experiences in the classroom ignited his passion for ensuring all students have access to opportunities that unlock their full potential.

Prior to his role at OMD, Aneesh gained valuable experience in the public and nonprofit sectors, working on education reform initiatives in Tennessee, Camden, New Jersey, and Boston, Massachusetts. He also served as the Executive Director for Teach For America in Greater Chicago and Northwest Indiana.

Aneesh is the recipient of the 2024 Peter Jennings Award for Civic Leadership from Teach For America and has been recognized as a Forbes 30 Under 30 for education. He is a Pahara Fellow, a 2019 Leadership Greater Chicago Fellow, and a member of The Economic Club of Chicago.
