Ángela is an educator (UPCH) and political scientist (PUCP), with a Master's in Education, public policy, and equity, with doctoral studies in Education at the University of Glasgow, UK, and an alumni of the second cohort of Enseña Perú.

 

She has been a member and advocate of committees in collective initiatives of high impact concerning equity in education, rural education, and creative education. She has 12 years of experience working towards educational transformation through the design and implementation of policies and projects focused on quality, innovation, and equity.

 

She has led high-demand, effective teams in the public sector as National Director of Secondary Education and National Director of Primary Education at the Ministry of Education. She also led the education advocacy strategy at the UNESCO office in Peru and is a member of the Education Leaders Community at IPAE, serving on the Committee for CADE Education 2022.

 

She has overseen the reform of the National Curriculum to include competencies in managing projects for economic and social entrepreneurship, and has been a trainer in higher education at ITS and PUCP. Ángela is also a trained clown in social circus, through which she founded and led the “Colectivo Caranava Cusco.”

 

She also has serving as a specialized spokesperson in education advocacy in media, and an applied researcher with publications on teacher identity and reform.
