James is the Executive Director for Engagement at Better Society Capital, the UK’s leading social impact investor. He is responsible for their external relations and leads on building awareness of and growing investment into social impact. Prior to joining BSC, James was in charge of external relations at Teach First for over 10 years, helping it grow its support and partnerships. Before that he worked as a BBC News Correspondent specialising in education, health, and social issues. Whilst at the BBC, James won awards including RTS for Best Regional TV Documentary and Education Journalist of the Year. In addition, James has served on the boards of a number of Teach First-connected charities including the Literacy Pirates and Jamie’s Farm.
