Today, we join organizations and governments around the world in recognizing World Refugee Day, an opportunity to raise awareness of the growing global plight of those who have fled or been forced to leave their homes and countries due to lack of security and political or economic instability.
Teach For All and Deutsche Post DHL Group have extended their partnership for an additional three years, reaffirming their commitment to ensuring all children have the opportunity to attain an excellent education, regardless of background or economic status.
On Wednesday, June 1, Teach For All hosted a live Twitter chat on the topic of teaching refugee children, featuring network partners that are working with children and families who have fled war-torn Syria.
Since the launch of the partnership in 2011, Deutsche Post DHL Group’s support of Teach For All and select network partners has also included opportunities for DPDHL Group employees to be actively engaged in their company’s goal of living responsibility and commitment to education. Throughout the year, in now 11 countries around the world, DPDHL Group employees directly engage with the staff, participants, alumni, and students of Teach For All partner organizations.
Fellows, alumni, founders, and staff of Teach First Deutschland recently came together with representatives of the government and education sectors, supporters, and press to celebrate the organization’s fifth anniversary.
In September, dozens of Deutsche Post DHL volunteers in Lima, Peru teamed up with EnseñaPeru teaching participants and more than 200 of their students for three days of repairing and beautifying schools and organizing student workshops. That same week in India, more than 100 volunteers visited 10 Teach For India schools across the country to host art competitions, paint classrooms, and interact with hundreds of students.
