2015 William Drenttel Award Winners Announced

In partnership with The Winterhouse Institute, we are excited to announce the winners of the inaugural William Drenttel Award for Excellence in Design. The Drenttel Award was created to honor the legacy of William Drenttel (1953-2013), a guiding force in the in the field of design and a great friend to Teach For All. Bill led the design for many of America's most prominent institutions, including leading magazines, museums, corporations, nonprofits, and universities.

Chronicling Teach For India's First Five Years

In celebration of Teach For India's five-year anniversary, CEO Shaheen Mistri recently co-authored a book chronicling the organization's history so far. "Redrawing India: The Teach for India Story," co-written by former staff member Kovid Gupta, begins with the experiences that shaped Mistri's deep belief in the potential of every child and led to the founding of Teach For India, and includes reflections from students, alumni, and current and former staff members.

Teach For All Participates in WISE Summit

At the World Innovation Summit for Education (WISE) in November, more than 1,500 experts and thought leaders from around the world gathered in Doha, Qatar to share solutions to the most pressing challenges facing education. The summit's theme—Imagine-Create-Learn: Creativity at the Heart of Education—highlighted how in our interconnected world, we can accelerate progress by learning from each other’s experiences and creative solutions.

A Focus on Student Vision and Leadership

In November, representatives of more than 20 network partners gathered in Mumbai, India to delve deeply into the question of how fostering leadership and empowerment among students can enhance learning and lead to improved outcomes and expanded opportunities. The event brought together CEOs, staff, alumni, participants, and students from across the Teach For All network, representing a wide range of experiences, both culturally and professionally.

Find Your Light: Exploring an Excellent Education

Two years ago 60 Teach For India students started on a journey tasked with the mission of 'finding their light,' exploring their full potential, and showing the world what they could achieve given the right opportunities. The result is a spectacular musical production called Maya and a game changing exploration of what an excellent education can look like when you integrate values and mindsets, exposure and access to the arts, and rigorous academics.
