A French teacher at the Petras Vileišis primary school in Vilnius, Lithuania, Renkuosi Mokyti! (Teach For Lithuania) alumna Urtė Penkauskaitė is passionate about supporting her students to take charge of their own education and focuses on strategies that help them learn independently. “This is our country's future," Urtė explains when asked why she teaches. "I see my students as [people] who will create the country together [with me]. I want to create with them a happy country—the country where we would like to live."
