EdLaunch Africa 2025: Highlights and reflections

In 2024-25, Teach For All and the network partners in Africa piloted EdLaunch Africa, an incubator for alumni-led social enterprises in the region. Fourteen alumni initiatives designed to bridge the gap in educational equity in Africa were selected to join the intensive 12-week bootcamp, where the participants learned the foundations of building a scalable and sustainable education venture. Topics explored included developing a theory of change, business planning, fundraising, and storytelling. At the end of the bootcamp, the entrepreneurs came together in Zimbabwe for a "Shark Tank"-style event where they pitched their venture ideas to an independent panel of judges. Five ventures were selected to receive between $5000 and $6000 USD in seed funding to enable them to focus full-time on their social enterprises.
