We’re excited to announce that, for the first time, we’ll be hosting our annual Teach For All Global Conference virtually, from October 20-22.

Developing collective leadership and preparing students to navigate and shape our ever-changing world has never felt more important than it has in 2020. The COVID-19 pandemic has made inequities more visible and more extreme—and has made many of us reconsider and reimagine our approach to ensuring a quality education for all children. We’re looking forward to bringing together our full global community—including staff members, participants, alumni, students, supporters, and allies of all Teach For All network partners—for the three-day event, which will be an opportunity for us to ground ourselves in the inequities we’re working to address and uncover possibilities for a brighter future.

Daily assemblies will feature keynote speakers, including 2014 Nobel Peace Prize winner Malala Yousafzai in conversation with 11-year old Teach For Nigeria student Chidinma Oraegbunam. Malala will share her perspectives on pressing current issues, such as the pandemic’s impact on disadvantaged students—and girls in particular—around the world, and the possibilities she sees for ensuring equity and opportunity for all.

In addition to the daily assemblies, the conference will include dozens of Learning and Leadership sessions hosted by network partner staff members, alumni, teachers, and students, on topics from technology’s role in revolutionizing education, to the development of cultural competence and racial literacy, to the importance of reaching more students in emergency situations. Over the course of the three-day event, in a series of workshops developed in collaboration with Teach For India’s Kids Education Revolution, students and adults will explore together the power of equal partnership in pursuit of a reimagined education. And, to bridge the geographic distance between attendees, multiple community-building opportunities will be offered each day for creating and strengthening connections across our growing network spanning 58 countries.

The 2020 Global Conference is sponsored by Citi, which also serves as Teach For All’s Global Learning Partner. Citi’s partnership will advance Teach For All’s work to foster learning communities across our global network and develop learning experiences and knowledge resources for network partners.
